Press Statement on White House Council on Environmental Quality Announcement
DURANGO, CO (February 6, 2014) – Today, the White House announced that Mike Boots will serve as acting chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). The following is a statement from Brian O’Donnell, Executive Director of the Conservation Lands Foundation on the announcement.
“CEQ is in good hands with Mike Boots. Mike has demonstrated a strong understanding of the issues, and is a get-it-done type of person. He is passionate about the natural treasures that make our country great. Mike understands the responsibility that government officials have to steward our natural heritage, and he will be very effective in this role. We are pleased that the White House has entrusted Mike Boots with this position.
We are also grateful for the work that current chair Nancy Sutley has done to advance the President’s agenda and for her service to our nation. The Conservation Lands Foundation wishes Chair Sutley the best for the future.”
